WINGS!
Finally, sixteen months after starting undergraduate pilot training, I received my wings yesterday, 20 May 2011. My fiancée was present as were my parents, aunt and uncle from Austin, and my cousin and her three kids. It was a great time, a little whirlwind, but we made wonderful memories.
Looking back on it really makes me realize how God is always taking care of me. Leave has worked out, checkrides, IPs, scheduling, cross-countries, and special events seem always to work in my favor. Whether it's for my fiancée and I to get some time together, or for me just to pass a checkride and get on to the next stage of training, the results have helped me. I expect that to continue. I will expect good things from God, because he is good.
Thank you to my loving family, who is always there to support me, who have prayed for me daily, and who will continue even though pilot training is over. You've done so much for me, and I want you to know I appreciate every bit of it. Without you, I wouldn't have earned those wings.
I have some big changes coming up in my life. I'm getting married in two weeks! I'll continue to post notable flying related events, and regular updates will commence when we arrive in Little Rock and I start C-130 school.
On to bigger and better!

Slicks to Pete!
Today we had our drop, and I found out I'm going to Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs where I'll be flying C-130s. I finished exactly in the middle of a class of 09 Air Force students. This is what the drop looked like:
D/O - 328 to Cannon AFB (Surprise! This is the specops version of the Dournier - 328 commuter)
C-130J to Dyess AFB
C-130J to Ramstein AB x2
C-130 to Peterson AFB (me)
C-130 to Yokota AB
C-130 to Little Rock (will probably get MC-12 + deployment first)
C-130J to Keesler AFB
C-130J to Dyess AFB
All of us except the guy who got the D/O - 328 will go to the schoolhouse in Little Rock for about 6 months and then on to our assignments for 3-4 years.
